The diagnosis of breast cancer evokes many emotions, for this TBCF arranges breast cancer survivors meetings to share their experiences with each other and exchange information concerning breast cancer treatment to reduce such emotions and feelings of isolation. Most breast cancer patients/survivors find it difficult to return to their normal life styles after surgery. TBCF hold members’ group meetings to share experiences, challenges as well as giving each other moral support. One meeting was conducted at Mbezi Garden Hotel in Dar es Salaam. Normally we conduct two such meetings every year.

TBCF counselors and volunteers visit breast cancer patients in hospital wards and family homes offering emotional support, and encouragement to patients, families and care givers, teaching them on the correct diet which is suitable for their health. We managed to visit more than 200 hundreds. Whereby most patients find it difficult to bear the cost of surgery and treatments; within this period TBCF managed to provide financial support to 22 patients/survivors and 100 patients were given material support. Support goes to TBCF members and Non members. Financial assistance is being given mainly for treatment support. Material which TBCF provides includes special braziers, artificial breasts, and sanitary items. TBCF is grateful to all who have put hand of support to make the Foundation moving ahead.
